Quick Review: Epoch

Saw this pretty bad movie the other day called Epoch. I'll just warn you to stay away from it. It has pretty good box art and you might think it was a movie that got limited release in theaters or you just happened to miss, but you will be wrong. It's a sci-fi original movie and not a really great one at that. If I'm going to watch a sci-fi original movie I want to see one with chupacabras, or British SAS soldiers fighting werewolves in the highlands of scotland, or raptors killing big breasted porn stars in suburbia. I don't want a half-hearted attempt at the alien contact movie. This movie wasn't that great.

Quick Review: Gremlins 2: The New Batch

It's difficult to put down my thoughts on this movie. This is partly because its been a few days since I've seen it and partly because this movie is simply a blur of crazy vignettes of the Gremlins wrecking havoc for about 45 minutes. Over the course of this movie you will see flying Gremlins, talking Gremlins, spider Gremlins, Gremlins that like to dress up as women (do Gremlins have a sex??) and more wackiness. The movie has so much going on and is so schizophrenic that the viewer can quickly become numb to the Gremlin's shenanigans. However the movie is a lot of fun and doesn't take itself seriously at all, and can you really hate a movie that comes to a grinding halt half way through and features a cameo from Hulk Hogan as he directly addresses the audience?
